Why ‘Connecting 5.0’?

We came up with the name ‘connecting 5.0’ by brainstorming a number of concepts we wanted communicate through our brand identity.

We decided that ‘connecting’ was the best way to phrase how our agency would make the links between companies’ products and vision, with consumers’ wants and needs. It needed to express how we as a company would link and connect different platforms of communication to disseminate these communications, especially in the context of a more ‘networked’ society.

Next, we wanted something more original to convey our essence as an emotive, holistic agency. Thus, we agreed on ‘5.0’. Whilst playing on the ideas of the web 2.0, thereby indicating an innovative, forward-looking agency on top of media evolutions, the ‘5.0’ would be taken as a metaphor to engage all five senses with a company’s brand, highlighting our holistic, tangible and human approach. Communications have to be personal to be engaging, and we wanted this to be expressed through our agency name and identity.

‘We want people to reach out and touch your brand, to breathe it in and embrace it. We want them to connect with it on a personal level.’

We decided to be a digital agency, as we believe in the power of social media to communicate ideas quickly, economically, and effectively around the world. We want to use a multi-platformed approach in order to exploit a wide range of channels to communicate messages, leaving the option for transmedia opportunities open. We all have experience using social and digital media for personal and professional use, so it seemed wise to exploit our existing experience and skills.
